Four Relaxing Coffee Shops in Baguio City

Baguio City is undeniably one of the most relaxing places to be, due to the climate and the laid back attitude. However, in the recent years there have been a high number of tourists visiting the area. The value of rental property has also increased and it has become rare to experience coffee shops and restaurants in peace.

Baguio has become too crowded, you would need to have insider tips from the locals, in order to get a quality time. Most tourists don’t get to experience the real essence of Baguio, and just rely on travel blogs that rarely speak about the true experiences that locals have. I am a solitary traveler and have a much harder time dealing with too many people. I want to experience my coffee in a relaxing area- where there is time to have conversations with friends and family. Here are the 4 most relaxing coffee shops in the city of Baguio:

1. Arca's Yard

Location: #777 Tip-Top City LImit, Ambuklao Road, Baguio City and it is owned by Ninj Sabado. This place is located several minutes away from the city proper. It would take 10 to 20 minutes before you can go to the location. It is more than just a coffee shop, it is also a place for visual works and books and this is the perfect spot for tourists who want to have some free time. The ambiance is calm-- in Baguio there is very little area where you could still see Pine trees- In Arca's Yard the windows and the veranda area will provide you spaces to breathe.

Arca's Yard servers organic tea and their own blend of coffee.  Since the area is located in Baguio, you can expect that the dishes would contain fresh vegetables. The price list of the food ranges from 80 up to 300php.

2. Tsokolateria
Location:  Igorot Stairs, Upper Session Road, Baguio City.
They are open until 9 pm, they are also located near Mt. Cloud Bookshop at Casa Vallejo.

Tsokolateria is located near the city, but it is able to provide quiet scenery for tourists who want to have me time. Although the quality of the food does not match the price, since everything is priced at 200 to 300 pesos. The main drink which is the Chocolate Batirol still hits the spot, the place is also ideal for conversations. Despite being in the hustle and bustle of the city-- there are still spots like this in Baguio that you could enjoy.

3. Kape Umali

Kape Umali is a restaurant/ Café, and they offer old school roasting. The place is far away from the city area, and is located in Shangrila, Village. Unlike other coffee shops in the area, you can check other crafts and items related to coffee making and staying in the area will help you appreciate Benguet produced coffee more. The chairs and tables are quite old, as well as the veranda but if you just want you and your group to have a private time discussing matters then this is the perfect place for you.

There is no need to mingle with a lot of tourists, and you can read a book.

4.  Gossip  Coffee Shop
Gossip Coffee shop has a creative and inspiring wall interior design.

The coffee shop is easily accessible, and is near the Central Business District. The place is perfect even for study time due to the comfortable ambiance and seats that are in the area. Gossip offers a number of coffee and tea drinks to choose from. They are also offering friendlier prices compared with top coffee shops. It is possible to find quality drinks priced at 65 php at Gossip- making the prices student friendly. According to what I have heard from a friend. The owner of Gossip is supporting local Benguet coffee farmers, instead of international brands. Each time you have coffee at Gossip you provide support for the locals of Cordillera.
