If you want a simplified version of how to learn stock trading then this is the right article for you. Check out the ideas of one of the best mentors in the field.
(We should be using both because in trading, you will not be able to use instinct without logic or logic without taking instinct into consideration. It's as if looking at a chart without knowing the difference between Fundamentals and Catalyst.)
2. How do you cope after experiencing a bad loss from the stock market?
(I would distance myself from my computer to unwind and release my emotion. A "Paradigm shift" to refocus on my next trade and recover from my loss because sometimes, emotion and can overcome your thoughts and cause you to sink deeper. I do the same thing even on windfall profit, releasing my emotion to stop my greediness; a reason to lose or decrease myprofit. In short, to cope from a big loss or loss of profit, you should have discipline when trading!)
3. What do you think is the most important thing a trader must know in order to become successful in trading?
(Unknown to some people, there are lot of things you need to know for you to become a succesful trader and I won't be able to enumerate all of them or we might run out of space. For me, the first thing you have to develop is DISCIPLINE.)
"Trading is an active style of participating in the financial markets for buying and selling shares that seek to outperform traditional buy-and-hold investing. Rather than seeking profits from long-term uptrends in the market, traders look for short-term price moves to profit in both rising and falling markets."
(There are a lot of important things for a trader to learn and become profitable even if you are not the best.)
Here are some that we need to consider:
In the Philippines stock trading, you need to know who your competitors are, what are their traits, and what are their core beliefs. What their favorites are, what's their style, who they work with, and what is their thinking pattern as well as their strategies. The most important thing to know is what their game is, you need to check the movement of their stocks based on the chart, and you also need to read the chart with regards to the movement. You need to stay informed, and your network must be wide in order to get first hand info.
4. Can you share some secrets or tell us what your best practices in trading are?
MAS - Mental Analysis
FU - Fundamental Analysis
(There are no secrets to trading because there's no formula for it. The best practice is to memorize or be familiar in the complete ingredient of trading. In trading, what we need is Masfutacadin and if you consider yourself weak in one of its link, you're trading will not be consider as the best. You can study everything in trading and like what I've said, there's no such thing as a secret because there's no perfect formula. The mood, the behavior, the attitude, the timing, the methods used are the ones moving the market because the traders themselves are the key who use different strategies and techniques regardless of the difference in the amount of money we have.'')
(Once we've mastered Masfutacadin, there's nothing we need to learn further in trading...'')
5. What is your favorite quote about Finance? Can you recommend sources that will give us idea on how to start in trading such as books, videos or a spokesperson?
(It does'nt matter if the profit is just a small margin for the day, what matters are that you profit every day. The thing that matters the most is that it is consistent. This will be better compared with a one big full payment that will only happen once and then you will no longer profit afterwards.)
(I'm not fond of reading books about stock market because I don't want to confuse myself so I can't recommend anything.)
''Mga nakilala kong magagaling sa Trading: Marlou Yu, Ma. Hiyaka Yu, Tama Yu at Nikki Yu.''
(People who I deemed experts in trading are: Marlou Yu, Ma. Hiyaka Yu, Tama Yu at Nikki Yu.)
6. What is your trading strategy? How did you come up with it? Can you describe your most successful trade so far? What is your track record in terms of profit margin in the last 5 years?
(The strategy that I am using is relevant to the current trends as of the moment. As a momentum trader, I see that acceleration is needed. When it comes to position trading, the way I see it, there is a need for support, but when it comes to a defensive trader you would want to preserve your capital.)
''Most successful trade ko is BW, sayang wala pang screen shot noong panahon na yun. Madaming masasayang trading noon, (IPOs of -MerA, MERB, CHI, Cosmos, RFM, SMPrime, PNB, UBP, JFC...) SMP (delisted), Calata, LRW, IS at ang pinaka recent ay yung TFHI...''
(My most successful trade is BW, I'm sorry that I can't provide a screenshot during that time. There are lots of victories along the way, and I have experienced numerous happy times during trading. ((IPOs of -MerA, MERB, CHI, Cosmos, RFM, SMPrime, PNB, UBP, JFC...) SMP (delisted), Calata, LRW, IS and the most recent is TFHI.)
''Track record or profit margin? Sabihin na lang natin, na bakit hanggang ngayon full time trader ako, sa araw araw, from opening to closing nang PSE nasa computer ako... At heto lang ang ginagawa ko.''
(If you will ask of my track record or profit margin, let's just say as an example, why am I still a full time trader right now. Even today, upon opening and closing of PSE, I am in front of the computer and this is what I am doing every day.)
7. What indicators do you use in your analysis? Do you have rules on how you use indicators?
(I'm not fond of using TA. I still apply my Masfutacadin concept.)
8. What indicator system do you use to spot a stock that you would likely place a trade in? Given those indicators, what parameters or set-ups have to be hit before you execute the trade?
(Like what I've said, I don't make use of charts or indicators, but I look at major players in the different fields of the stock market, especially those who are buying stocks on accumulation level.)
9. How do you plot support and resistance/ do you follow your ma's, fibo, harmonics, trendlines?
''Support ang resistance di ko pina plot, I only use my instinct, kapag bumaba ang isang stock at malapit na sa kanyang 52 low or historic lows depende sa Catalyst at nasa accumulation phase na siya meaning hindi na siya bumababa pa, dahil over sold na, then nag uumpisa na rin akong mag accumulate dahil ang sa tingin ko ito ay may minimal risk na at ang profit ay bonus na lang.''
(I no longer plot support and resistance, I only make use of my instinct. For example, if the stocks go down and its near 52 low or historic lows depending on the Catalyst, and whether it is on its accumulation phase. This means that it no longer went down because it is oversold then I start to accumulate, because for me, it has minimal risk and profit is just a bonus.)
I only follow Momentum and Impulse.''
(Nope, I do not look at the mean average or other chart indicators, I only rely on Momentum and Impulse.)
10. Why do you think a cutloss is necessary and where do you place the stop? How do you determine your cutloss level? How do you determine your take profit level?
''Ang Cutloss is part of a trading plan.
